Anna Kournikova is the former tennis player of Russia who had announced her retirement from the professional tennis 5 years back. But, even after her retirement from professional tennis, her popularity hasn’t decreased. She is still very famous among the tennis fans. After retiring from tennis, she focused on modeling. She took part in a lot of modeling events. She also acted in some television programmes.

Anna Kournikova was born in Russia, but, now, she has got the citizenship of America. Anna Kournikova was a very talented tennis player. She started playing tennis at a very young age. At the young age of 14, she had won the Orange Bowl. Orange Bowl is a very famous tournament played at the junior level. She had also won the ITF Junior World Championship in the later part of the same year. She played her first Grand Slam in 1996. In the US open of 1996, she played quite well, but was defeated in the fourth round. She started climbing the ladder of success pretty quickly. In 2000, she was positioned at no. 8 in the official rankings of World Tennis Association (WTA).

Kournikova won two grand slam doubles title playing with Martina Hingis. But, she had to suffer with a serious back problem due to which she had to leave tennis. During her career, she defeated many great players, but, unfortunately she could not win a grand slam singles title. Anna Kournikova was quite popular in media too. The media always used to speculate about her marriage and relationships. As far as Kournikova’s personal life is concerned, she is currently in a relationship with Spanish singer, Enrique Iglesias. But, on being asked about getting married, Kournikova said that she doesn’t have any plan of getting married in the near future. She said that she is quite happy being in a relationship.
