FOCUS ON KOURNIKOVA

Anna Sergeyevna Kournikova is a retired tennis professional player who was born in Russia in the year. During her era of playing the game tennis not only was she known as a normal tennis player but was more of a celebrity. Her celebrity status was the reason for her to be come so famous with everyone though she was no great tennis player not even winning a single WTA single title.

During the time of her fame that is during her peak period she was the most searched star on the famous search network engine – Google.  It is not true to say that Anna Kournikova never performed as such, instead to state a few facts it was noted that Anna Kournikova was ranked number 8 in the world in the year 2000 and with partner Martina Hingis she has won many Grand slam titles in doubles. These victories were in the year 1999 and 2002. Anna Kournikova gave more than just her play and sport to tennis. She and Martina were coincidentally also known as the Spice Girls in the tennis circuit due to her beautiful look.

In the year 2008 just before Anna Kournikova could retire, she played an exhibition match for a charity event going on to show her love for social work.  During this exhibition match she played doubles with Andy Roddicks.  In the meanwhile she was considered to be a spokesperson for K swiss and was not considered very fit. Again in the year 2010, Anna Kournikova came back with her doubles partner Martina Hingis to participate in the Invitational Ladies Double Event at Wimbledon.  On June 29^th, 2010 Anna Kournikova and Martina Hingis defeated the British pair Samantha Smith and Anne Hobs. Thus Anna Kournikova lived a perfect life though gain stating that she did not give her best to the game but was considered to be an overall performer in all aspects.
